Why Audiobook Accessibility Matters: The Audio Files on Stories with Hart Hart

For many people, audiobooks are a wonderful convenience—a way to turn a long commute, a workout, or doing the dishes into an immersive story. But for me, audiobooks are deeply personal. They are part of my “Big Why” as an author, rooted in the very home where I grew up.

I grew up in a household with my mother, my maternal grandmother, and my grandfather. Both my mother and my grandfather fought Multiple Sclerosis (MS), each living with different forms of the disease. Because MS can heavily impact a person’s vision, our home was constantly filled with the sound of stories. We relied on the library for the blind to deliver books on tape, ensuring that a love for literature was never limited by physical sight.

I learned early on that audio isn’t just an alternative way to consume a story. For a massive community of readers—including those navigating chronic illness, visual impairments, or physical limitations—audiobooks are the only way to access books.  Bringing the Audio Vault into the Spotlight Because accessibility is a core pillar of my mission as an artisan author, I have spent years building a robust audio library across my different series.

If you are an avid listener searching for your next binge-worthy audio escape, here is a guide to the incredible, award-winning narrators who have brought my worlds to life:

Meet the Voices Behind the Stories

If you love full-cast dynamics, rich character accents, and flawless comedic timing, you will want to add these names to your listening queue:

  • Suzanne Cerreta: If you are a fan of fast-paced, laugh-out-loud cozy mysteries with a fiercely relatable heroine—think Finlay Donovan or Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum—you will love Suzanne’s brilliant performance in The Misadventures of the Laundry Hag series and Damaged Goods. She perfectly captures the sharp wit and domestic chaos of accidental detective Maggie Phillips.

  • Holly Jackson: For listeners who crave high-heat, small-town paranormal romance and gritty urban fantasy, Holly Jackson delivers an absolute masterclass. She provides the voice for the Why Choose / Reverse Harem dynamic in the Cougars & Cauldrons series, as well as the thrilling ride of River Rats. It is the perfect listen if you miss the rich, magical world-building of Charlaine Harris’s Sookie Stackhouse books but want zero love-triangle stress.

  • Jacqueline Rendell: If your perfect audio escape involves witchy vibes, deep sisterhood, and ancient family secrets—in the vein of Alice Hoffman’s Practical Magic or Darynda Jones’s Charley Davidson series—Jacqueline Rendell’s narration is pure magic. She brings a beautiful emotional depth and snappy pacing to both the Silver Sisters series and Legacy Witches of Shadow Cove.
